Cheryl P. Johnson – CEO of COTS, and New Detroit’s board chair was honored in a private ceremony with an unveiling of a self-portrait at the Detroit Historical Museum by The Soul Of Philanthropy (TSOP) for her dedication and heart work within the community.
The Soul of Philanthropy: Reframed & Exhibited is a multi-sensory exhibit featuring photography, poetry, and prose that weave vivid stories to reveal the long and unsung legacy of Black philanthropists – from generous donors of wealth to ingenious givers carving a way out of no way.
The exhibit is open to the public for viewing at the Detroit Historical Museum from June 3rd through August 27th, and the exhibit has two components, one of which showcases black philanthropy from a national perspective and local black philanthropists. Visit their website for more information.
